  • You analyse examples, perspectives, or classroom situations to explore how the concepts appear in practice.

    • Revisit the classroom moment

Earlier, you encountered a short classroom situation involving AyĹźe and her use of Turkish during an English lesson.

Now, revisit the moment through the lens of plurilingualism, mediation, and translanguaging.

AyĹźe is telling a short story in English. She pauses, uses a Turkish word for emphasis, and continues speaking in English. As the teacher, you notice the moment.

Exploring classroom situations is only one part of becoming a plurilingual teacher.
The next step is to examine how your own experiences and assumptions shape your thinking about language teaching - and how these beliefs may need to evolve in response to changing classrooms and new perspectives.
