Abschnittsübersicht

  • You examine how your beliefs about language teaching are shaped, challenged, and transformed by new perspectives and changing classroom realities.

    • In the previous chapters, you explored key concepts of plurilingualism and analysed how they can become visible in classroom interaction. However, understanding and recognising plurilingual practices is only one part of becoming a plurilingual English teacher.

Teaching is not static. Learners, classrooms, societies, and educational perspectives continue to change. As future teachers, we need to reflect not only on what we know, but also on how our beliefs and practices may need to evolve over time.

This chapter invites you to examine your own assumptions about language teaching and to consider how reflective practice can help teachers respond to changing realities.

Reflective teachers do not simply apply ideas - they critically examine, adapt, and refine them in response to changing learners, classrooms, and societies.
In the next chapter, you will explore practical classroom activities that illustrate how plurilingual approaches can be translated into English language teaching practice.
