Abschnittsübersicht

  • You apply what you have learned by designing a small teaching activity or task.

    • You now have the opportunity to apply the ideas explored throughout this module.

Design a short classroom activity for young English learners that creates opportunities for learners to draw on their linguistic repertoires. Your activity should demonstrate how plurilingual approaches can support language learning, participation, identity, or mediation in an EFL classroom.

      Designing a Plurilingual Classroom Activity

Design a classroom activity (approximately 10–15 minutes) for learners aged 8–14.

Choose a topic that could realistically be taught in an English lesson (e.g. vocabulary, reading, storytelling, pair work, project work, or another classroom situation).

      Your activity should:

      • include a clear learning objective

      • describe the activity step by step

      • explain how learners' linguistic repertoires are used

      • be adapted to a specific age group

      • be suitable for an EFL classroom

      Reflection and Justification

      After describing your activity, explain:

      1. Which plurilingual idea(s) from the module influenced your design?

      2. How does the activity support learners' language learning, participation, identity, or mediation?

      3. Why is the activity appropriate for your chosen age group?

      4. What challenges might arise during implementation?

      Submission

Submit your activity and reflection as a single document via Moodle.

      Suggested length:

      • Activity description: approximately 200–300 words

      • Reflection and justification: approximately 300–500 words

      Assessment Criteria

Your submission will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

      Understanding of plurilingual approaches

The activity demonstrates an understanding of concepts explored in the module.

      Classroom relevance

The activity is appropriate for young English learners and a realistic EFL classroom context.

      Pedagogical reasoning

The design decisions are clearly explained and justified.

      Reflection

The submission demonstrates thoughtful engagement with opportunities and challenges of plurilingual teaching.
