    Notice, interpret, adapt and review

Use these prompts in your own notes after analysing or trying an activity. No submission or public disclosure is required.

    1. Goal: What English language action did I intend to support?
    2. Observation: What did the learner actually do? Describe the task and support without assigning a diagnosis.
    3. Interpretation: What are two possible explanations? What information is missing?
    4. Change: Which support would I keep, adjust or reduce? Which access arrangement should remain?
    5. Review: What would I observe next, and what result would make me revise my explanation?

Closing sentence: “My next decision is … because I observed … . I still need to check … .”
